White Ravens: A Legacy of Resistance
"White Ravens: A Legacy of Resistance" examines the colonial impact on Haida Gwaii, with my spoken poetry serving as the narrative thread connecting the story. Directed by Georg Koszulinski, this film toured the Pacific Northwest with screenings in Vancouver at the DOXA Festival, Victoria, Haida Gwaii, Seattle, and even Madrid, Spain. It is now available online.
Aboriginal Metaphysical
In 2018, I was honored with a YVR Art Foundation arts scholarship grant, which enabled me to produce "Aboriginal Metaphysical." This project is a collection of hip-hop tracks and a video that features a 'retro-futuristic' aesthetic, reflecting my unique artistic vision. This work won the "Best in Festival" award at the Delta Literary Society COMPOSED 2024.
In the Wake of the Cedar Tree
"In the Wake of the Cedar Tree" marked the debut project under my official business name, Mycorrhiza InterMedia. This experimental documentary, awarded $50,000 by StoryHive in 2018 and released in 2019, blends experimental and documentary styles, showcasing my innovative approach to storytelling. It has been featured in over 20 festivals and received more than 10 awards, including a screening at VIFF 2023.
Commitment to Media and Networking
I am deeply committed to media and networking. Through collaboration with others, we elevate our collective awareness and amplify our voices. I have worked extensively in media production and post-production since 2010, audio recording and production since 2010, and web development and design since 2015. My collaborations include co-producing multi-media projects with Substream Films and participating in the YMP Youth Media Project at Comox Valley Art Gallery.
Our Art, Our Voice
My primary goal is to enable the free expression of our unheard people. With the right support, I believe we can independently manage our media efforts and unite everyone for a common cause. This belief is reflected in my work with Mycorrhiza InterMedia and my contributions to various non-profit initiatives, such as co-founding the Eudaemonia Network Society in 2020 and participating in the Intersections Media Program in 2022.
